FirstEnergy is proud to be a four-time recipient of EEI’s Outstanding National Key Account Customer Service Award. Based on votes cast by large national customers representing a wide variety of industries, the award recognizes electric utilities for excellence in providing superior service to multisite National Account customers.
The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey and COMMERCE Magazine recently recognized JCP&L with the Environmental Leadership Medal. This award honors companies that are reducing waste, conserving energy and protecting the environment in ways that improve quality of life and business outcomes. JCP&L was recognized for its efforts to protect ospreys through a nest relocation and mitigation program, which moves existing nests away from power equipment and discourages future nesting on our transmission and distribution infrastructure.
Our Regulated Generation organization received the 2018 Outstanding Education Partner award for our work with Youngstown State University’s STEM program. The award recognizes the continued collaboration between YSU and FirstEnergy, including our Power Plant Technology training program. This program has resulted in the hiring of approximately 200 Youngstown State students since 2005.
In 2019, FirstEnergy was recognized for the 21st consecutive year as a Tree Line USA utility by the National Arbor Day Foundation, in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters. This award recognizes investor-owned and public utility companies that promote the dual goals of providing dependable utility service and maintaining healthy trees along America’s streets and highways. Award-winning companies demonstrate excellence in tree care, training and public education.
